Since 2001, Bridge of Love has been instrumental in rescuing Romanian children abandoned in orphanages and hospitals and placing them with caring foster families in their own country. In partnership with a Romanian foundation, Bridge of Love provides ongoing support to sustain the children’s physical, emotional and educational needs and helps them to grow and succeed in life through achieving personal goals. We also are providing support for older Romanian teens and young adults who have grown up in an orphanage, as they move forward in their lives and education. Thank You Bremner Family!
We would like to thank Rick and Eileen Bremner, along with their grandchildren, for their help in providing Christmas gifts for many children for the past three years! Children from the orphanages and villages were delighted with their toys, oranges, and goodies that the Bremner family provided.
Best Dracula's Dash Ever!
The 2015 fundraiser, "Dracula’s Dash for Hope," was a huge success. The race took place at a new venue this year and consisted of a 10k, 5k, and Kid’s ½ mile Run. The October weather was perfect and we doubled our numbers from last year. Many of the runners were in costume and there were several activities for the children. We express our appreciation to all who supported Bridge of Love in this annual fundraiser, and we hope to see more of you there next year!
Thank You Fairhope, Alabama!
We want to extend our deep appreciation for all involved in the recent Art Auction held in Fairhope, Alabama for Bridge of Love. It was a beautiful event and the proceeds will be a blessing to the Romanian children. We appreciate PJ and MaryBeth Howard, their committee, the talented artists, and those who bought the beautiful pieces of art!
The office in Bârlad is in the process of being remodeled to make a bigger gathering area where the foster children can gather for games, activities, and classes. It will be nice to have a safe place off the streets where the children can socialize!
We are excited to announce our Dracula’s Dash for Hope 5k and 1/2-Mile Kids’ Run/Walk on Saturday, October 10th at the Riverfront East Park, 10991 South Riverfront Parkway, South Jordan, Utah.
Dracula is out to change his reputation of doom and gloom by helping to raise donations for abandoned and disadvantaged children in Romania. This is our 9th annual charity run which, for the first time, will include a 10K run in addition to the 5K and Kids' Fun run. Download our flyer here.
Summer Camp was Great!
Our recent summer camp for the Bridge of Love foster children was held in July. The ten new children who have recently been added to our program were in attendance. Our theme was, "Lend a Helping Hand," and the children learned the importance of reaching out to others to make a difference. The children loved the team building workshops and activities, and the time together. The foster mothers also came for parenting classes, activities, and social time. We extend a special thanks to all our volunteers for their love and commitment towards the children.
Bridge of Love has expanded their efforts to not only help the abandoned and orphaned children, but to assist poor village families with the needs of their children. The summer volunteers made a trip into several villages this summer to deliver needed clothing and diapers to those in need. It was a joy to be able to help strengthen families who are doing their best to care for their children.
Our recent golf tournament was held on May 20, 2015 at Talon’s Cove in Saratoga Springs, Utah. We extend a special thanks to Clayton Berg and his committee for the terrific job in hosting the event. We had 140 golfers who not only had a great day on the links, but enjoyed a continental breakfast and luncheon, complete with a drawing of great prizes. Come join us next May for more golfing fun!
